Meet The Peckish Goose Team
I came up with the idea for Peckish Goose during lockdown of 2020. My son, Joshua and I would go for our daily walks and always try to make sure they included the chance to say “hello” to friendly pigeons and ducks. We would imagine the things they would say if they could and the adventures they would go on. Our own little rabbits Phoenix and Jemima have always brought us such joy and we love to chat about the secret adventures they have when we aren’t home.
We imagine that Phoenix has his own business, which is why he is often a bit of a grumpy rabbit, there is a lot of pressure on his small fluffy shoulders. We love to picture Jemima going off to have dinner with her friends, and going dancing while we sleep. We imagine this is why she manages to keep her slender figure, despite muching through a lot of bananas!
From there I began sketching ideas (just for fun at this stage) of the adventures we imagined them to have, from going out sailing in their little boat, to going on romantic walks with a fox we met on one of our walks, who we named Theodore.
Making our little home cosy and welcoming has always brought me so much joy. A home isnt just where we eat and sleep; it is where we feel safe- the only place in the world where we can be completely ourselves. I always try to find items for our home which are unique and have a story to tell, whether thats something made by someone we love or something we found in a charity shop. I could, however, never find homeware which had a story to tell, so I turned my sketches into beautiful products (with the help of some very talented artists) which would reignite people’s sense of innocence and childlike wonder.
From the moment our first prototype arrived on our doorstep, I knew Peckish Goose would bring other adults and children the same sense of love which we feel when we cuddle Jemima and Phoenix and chat to the geese and pigeons in the park.
The world is full of magic charm and innocence, we just need to remember it exists. My hope is that Peckish Goose will bring this back into your home.
